An introduction to architectural computer-aided drawing and design (CADD). You’ll learn the CADD environment, file management, drawing and editing geometry, multilines, layers, text and dimension styles, Model and Paper Space, and plotting. Through a sequence of commands taught project by project, you’ll produce title blocks, civil and site plans, floor and roof plans, elevations, sections and details as a professional drawing set. Student expectations

  • Attendance is required at both the Zoom lecture and the in-person lab, and is taken at every session.
  • Plan ahead so your materials are ready, and complete readings before class.
  • Projects are due at the start of class on the due date.
  • Late work is accepted up to two weeks after the due date, at 10% off per week; nothing is accepted after the last day of the course.
  • If you’re struggling, facing extenuating circumstances or need more time, reach out to Professor Abdullateef right away to find a solution together.
  • Be honest and original: plagiarism and cheating aren’t tolerated, in line with the CRC Honor Code.
  • AI can support your learning, but it can’t replace your own design thinking: submitting AI-generated models, renderings, drawings or boards as your own work is an academic integrity violation (F on the assignment the first time, F in the course the second).
  • Not sure whether a particular use of AI is OK for an assignment? Ask Professor Abdullateef before you submit.
